The Hunger Season

$ 99.00

The Hunger Season tells the story of a young teacher and the children in his care, as they struggle to survive the worst drought in living memory in Swaziland, Southern Africa. The Hunger Season connects their fate to the Swazi government, to the UN agencies and Western governments, charting the players and decision makers who will determine the fate of a small nation.

This is a story about the impact of climate change, of a community trapped in a cycle of drought and hunger and increasing dependence on the international community. This is a film that questions how we respond to the growing humanitarian needs of the world, and unravels the price of that intervention.
